Ken founded Humboldt Merchant Services in 1993 and managed all aspects of the business from its infancy to an eventual size of $5 Billion annually with over 100,000 merchants. Ken effectively cultivated both large ISO sponsorship relationships and a bank owned and branded merchant portfolio. In 2003, Humboldt Bank sold the bank owned merchant portfolio to First National Bank Holding Company. Ken was responsible for managing the business through the transition and remained at the helm of HMS throughout the Company’s term as separate entity. Moneris Solutions, Inc. acquired Humboldt Merchant Services’ sales channels, employees and merchant accounts in 2008. Ken was retained as an Executive with Moneris, leading integration efforts and driving sales through the ISO, Partner, Financial Institution and Direct channels. In March of 2010, Ken joined long time payment professionals Mr. Steve Kimberling and Mr. Scott Bartlett to drive direct merchant sales and provide merchant consultation for merchants throughout the County and Country, specifically catering to wireless merchants and merchants in card not-present industries. Ken is a frequent contributor to the industry publication, The Green Sheet and has spoken on numerous topics at industry events throughout his career.
